Children’s first visit to the dentist can affect their relationship with oral health treatment for the rest of their lives. It is important that a young person’s first experience in a dental chair is a positive one, so we make it as fun as possible! We recommend children start visiting the dentist with their family from approximately two-years-old. A Polaroid photo, ride in the chair, lots of laughter and a movie on the ceiling mounted screens are all a part of a child’s first visit to CP Dental. It is imperative that a child’s first visit to the dentist is not when they are experiencing pain or discomfort with a tooth as this may result in fear and negative connotations with the dentist. We also accept the Medicare Child Dental Benefits Scheme (CDBS) payments where the child is eligible.
Dr Steven Kazoullis is a paediatric dentist who currently practices at CP Dental Emerald. Steven’s specialist qualifications allow him to treat complex paediatric cases within our general dentistry practice.
All of our dentists treat children, but we are also fortunate to have trained dental therapists Samantha Wharton, Alice Lee and Natalie Corfield who are fantastic with kids.
