FAQ

Everyone’s dental health requirements are different and we tailor care to your needs.  We recommend most people visit every six months however your dental professional may suggest you be seen more regularly and some patients may only need to be seen annually.

We are unable to accept Medicare cards for payment.  Some patients may be eligible for treatment through Queensland Health and we suggest you contact one of our team or Queensland Health for more information.

Yes, it is our pleasure and privilege to take care of patients with a DVA Gold Card.

We are delighted to participate in the Medicare Child Dental Benefit Schedule (CDBS).  This scheme covers eligible children for most dental treatments and the costs are covered by Medicare.  Not all families are eligible and some treatments are excluded from the program, please call Medicare or one of our friendly front office teams to discuss your eligibility.

CP Dental accepts payment on the day of treatment.  We offer the convenience of HICAPS for the processing of private health insurance claims and accept Visa, MasterCard, cash and EFTPOS for payments.  We do offer external payment plans for eligible patients through ZipMoney. Please contact our team for more information.

We recommend your child see the dentist from 6 months of age so we can assess and provide guidance on how to care for their teeth.  Children who have issues with baby teeth can suffer from considerable pain and risk of infection and more often go on to have significant problems with their adult teeth. We invite you bring your children to your appointments to familiarise them with the dental practice and the team. Going for a quick ride in the chair and inspection really helps to promote the dentist as a positive environment. We will do all we can to ensure your child’s first visit (and all visits after) are as comfortable, relaxed and fun as possible.

X-rays are an important diagnostic tool that show the condition of your teeth and their roots and whats going on “out of sight”.  X rays can help to identify  problem areas between the teeth and under the gums and assists in early detection of problems long before they become painful.

X-Rays can help your dentist determine the presence or degree of periodontal disease, abscesses and any abnormal growths, such as cysts and tumours.

Yes, white fillings which are made from a composite resin material are used at all CP Dental locations.  CP Dental does not offer amalgam (silver) fillings.

We respectfully request 24 hours notice for changing or cancelling an appointment, this allows us to offer the available time to someone else in need.  We understand that emergencies and unexpected events occur so please if you are unable to  make your appointment please let us know as soon as possible.  We will be happy to find an alternative time for you to come in but remind you, you may have to wait for specific days or times.

Yes we do.  Please contact our friendly team to discuss your specific needs.

Every effort will be made to ensure you experience the minimum amount of discomfort if any during dental procedures. There are always options available to reduce pain and discomfort during most dental procedures. Local anesthetic is very effective and it is important to advise us if you have special concerns or phobias. We will do our utmost to listen, understand and take steps to make your comfortable and achieve your treatment goals.

It is common to have an increase in sensitivity after cleans, fillings and other procedures. This normally only lasts a few days but can go on for longer. Significant pain, such as teeth that wake you in the middle of the night can indicate more serious issues. Please contact us if you have any concerns.
