Anngelene De Beer
Lisa was born and raised in Brisbane. She originally joined CPDG in 1995 as a Dental Assistant and gained her Certificate 3 in Dental Assisting and completed a Certificate 3 in Office Administration during the five years she worked for CPDG. After leaving the surgery in 2000 she has worked in accounts based roles and gained qualifications and experience with MYOB. Lisa returned to CPDG in 2008 as the Financial and Administration Manager in a part time bookkeeping position and her role has steadily grown since her return. Outside of work Lisa enjoys spending time with her two children and husband, camping and going to the beach. Lisa also enjoys shopping, cooking and reading a good book.
Nicole joined the CPDG Team in 2007 and is originally from the Hunter Valley NSW. Nicole is the Central West Manager for our Barcaldine/Longreach trips, in addition to this role Nicole assists Sally (Front Office Manager) as her 2IC. Nicole also helps to maintain our website and social media pages and enjoys any opportunity to be creative. Outside of work Nicole is involved in community & Church activities, she enjoys going to markets & galleries with her family.
Originally from South Africa Sally became part of the CPDG team in 2001 and is now the Human Resources/Front Office Manager of CP Dental Coopers Plains. Sal brings a wealth of knowledge to the practice with her many years’ experience in an office environment and thrives on the various aspects this role entails. Sal’s calm and competent manner allows her to manage the many challenges of our busy front office while encouraging and supporting the team. Sal has embraced Australia and when not working she enjoys holidaying with her husband, exploring new places and spending time with her family.
Paula Di Maio
Paula joined the Coopers Plains Dental Group family in 1999 and has fulfilled many roles during her time at the practice. Now in the role of our General Manager Paula dedicates her time to supporting others in leadership roles within the group and ensuring everything we do is “best practise”. Paula is also our Privacy Officer and has a strong focus on infection prevention and control, and work health and safety. Our team is supported in its endeavour to achieve the highest standard of care at all times by written protocols and procedures manuals that Paula often jokes are her “life’s work and masterpieces”. Known to enjoy a chat she can often be found in our corridors or sitting in reception catching up with patients and visitors to the practice. Paula’s spare time is blissfully spent with her husband, daughter, two miniature schnauzers and two cats. She loves to read and cook and often combines the two by reading cook books and trying out new recipes.
Raised in the Northern suburbs of Brisbane, Amy completed her high school education and began her tertiary education at the University of Queensland in 2007, studying a Bachelor of Arts. However, after a year decided that she wanted to work within the health industry and was accepted into the Bachelor of Oral Health program. Upon graduating she joined the Coopers Plains Dental Group in 2011. When not at work Amy loves to spend time with her family, friends and pets. She also enjoys sewing, reading and walking.
Nat is originally from Emerald and became a full time dental assistant in the early days of CP Dental Emerald. After 3 years as an assistant she went on to pursue her long term goal of becoming an Oral Health Therapist. Nat graduated from CQU Rockhampton in 2015 with a Bachelor of Oral Health. After working in Melbourne for 2 years Nat returned to CP Dental Emerald. With an interest in preventative dentistry, she is undertaking further studies in nutrition. Outside of work Nat enjoys all things health and fitness, does crossfit and wakeboarding and also loves to spend time with her family.
Nicola has forsaken the grey skies of England to come and provide hygiene services at CPDG. Emigrating with her husband in 2005 from Manchester, the couple has set about establishing a new life in Australia with other family members also moving to Brisbane. Nicola has been working as a Dental hygienist for over 11 years now. The aspects of Oral Hygiene that Nicola enjoys are Oral Health education, gum care (periodontal disease) and fissure seals for children. Nicola and her family enjoy going to the beach, parks and all the great activities available for families. Nicola and her husband have been successful in becoming Australian citizens.
Raised in Toowoomba, Kylie moved to Sydney in 2002, where she later completed her Bachelor of Oral Health through the University of Newcastle. After she completed her degree in 2007, Kylie and her husband decided to return to Queensland to be closer to their families. Kylie Joined the CPDG team in August of 2008 and continues to work part time and enjoys while also raising her two small children.
Born and raised in Gladstone, Sam moved to Brisbane in 2006 to commence her studies at the University of Queensland. Graduating in 2008, with a bachelor in Oral Health, she joined the team at Coopers Plains. Sam enjoys all aspects of dental hygiene and has a special interest in children’s dental therapy and also attends Oral Therapy Conferences. When not at work she enjoys playing basketball & netball and relaxing with family and friends.
Dani was born in Port Hedland (WA) but considers herself a Queenslander after spending the majority of her upbringing in Brisbane. She graduated from UQ as an Oral Health Therapist in 2008 alongside her longtime friend and our longest serving OHT, Sam. After her first appointment in Chinchilla, Dani joined the CP Dental team at our Emerald location in 2010. Keen to return to Brisbane, Dani spent three years working in St Lucia before enrolling to study Dentistry in NSW. Dani’s interest in Orofacial Pain led her to concurrently embark on a Masters of Science in Pain Management at the University of Sydney. She loves all aspects of general dentistry but particularly enjoys working with children and those with special needs. Outside of work, Dani enjoys staying active, painting, and a cuddle with her gorgeous nephews!
Steven restricts has dental practice to children for treatment that requires the next level above a general Dentist.
Ryan was born in Mackay before relocating to Weipa, a small mining town in Far North Queensland known for its awesome fishing. Ryan schooled in Weipa, before moving to Cairns where he completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery at James Cook University. Ryan made the move to Emerald, where he joined the CP Dental Emerald Team in 2016. He enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, with special interests in restorative and fixed prosthodontics. Away from dentistry, Ryan enjoys travelling; playing soccer, cricket and golf.
Originally from Cairns, Claire completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery at James Cook University. After spending time in the Queensland Health system, Claire made the move to Emerald in early 2015, and is thoroughly enjoying her new role with the Cooper Plains Dental Group team. Claire has a particular interest in general dentistry and loves providing a positive dental experience for children. In her spare time, Claire enjoys baking and travelling, and is looking forward to exploring the Emerald region further.
Born in rural New South Wales, Jose completed primary school in Bathurst before moving to a small country town outside of Gladstone, Central Queensland. Upon completing high school, Jose continued into a Bachelor of Dental Surgery, becoming a member of the pioneering cohort of dental students at James Cook University in Cairns. During his time at university Jose has taken part in research with the Australian Dental Research Foundation and completed clinical placements in Norway, Darwin, Oenpelli and Cairns. Following graduation in 2013, Jose joined the Coopers Plains Dental Team and will be based in the Mayfair Ridge Dental Practice in Emerald. Enjoying all aspects of dentistry, Jose has a particular interest in Prosthodontics (crown and bridge), Cosmetics, Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology. Outside of dentistry Jose enjoys travelling, reading and spending time with family and friends.
After emigrating from Hong Kong when she was eight years old, Vivian attended Holy Cross Primary School and All Hallows’ School, before proceeding to study dentistry at the University of Queensland. After working in Townsville briefly, Vivian joined Coopers Plains Dental following her graduation. Vivian enjoys multiple disciplines of dentistry, especially aesthetic buildups and fixed prosthetics. When not working, Vivian spends most of her time with her friends and family. She is also an avid foodie, a dog lover and a shopaholic.
Reuben was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and migrated to Australia in 2001. Reuben graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Adelaide in 2008 before moving to Brisbane the following year. Reuben enjoys all facets of general dentistry but has a particular interest in surgery and restorative work. Reuben’s interests outside of work include baking, swimming and golf. Coopers Plains Dental Group welcomed Reuben to the team in January 2012.
In 2010 Coopers Plains Dental Group welcomed Christopher Souvlis. Chris is a University of Queensland Graduate with 30 years experience. He started his career with the Queensland Health School Dental Service moving around the south east corner of Queensland before spending 2 years on the Gold Coast. He then spent 24 years in his own practice in Brisbane. During this time Chris developed a particular interest in cosmetic dentistry and oral rehabilitation. Outside of dentistry Chris has a love of sport with his favourites including cricket, he is a level 2 accredited cricket coach, and soccer with Chelsea being his favourite team. He tries to play golf. His main passion is cooking and he enjoys cooking for friends and family and dabbles in catering for events. He also loves architecture and likes to design and build houses in his spare time.
Summer was born in South Korea, but has spent most of her life here in Australia. She completed her Bachelor of Dental Science with Honours in 2007 at University of Queensland. Summer enjoys all aspects of dentistry, and loves keeping up with continuing education. Outside Dentistry, she enjoys travelling, hiking and other outdoor activities. But at the same time she can sit down to read a whole book in one day.
Tristan was born in Melbourne, but spent the majority of his upbringing on the Sunshine Coast and in northeast Brisbane. Upon graduating from Brisbane Grammar School, Tristan spent a Gap year working in the UK and on a South African game reserve. Studying aviation on his return and successfully gaining a private pilots license, Tristan then moved to the Gold Coast to study dentistry as a member of the foundation cohort at Griffith University. Receiving the inaugural Oral Health and Dental Science Medal, Tristan joined the practice in 2009, bringing with him particular interests in the cosmetic and surgical sides of dentistry. Having represented Australia at three consecutive Triathlon World Championships, Tristan also enjoys rock climbing, travelling and has an obsession with boating and fishing.
Growing up on both the North & South East suburbs of Brisbane, Dan was schooled at the Anglican Church Grammar School prior to starting tertiary studies at the University of Queensland. Initially studying Science, Dan earned his Honours in Science through researching mobility of different types of human cancers while tutoring/teaching Anatomy to the third year UQ Department of Anatomy students. He then commenced Dental Studies gaining honours. Eventually the life of a student ended, where he joined Coopers Plains Dental Surgery in 2005. While enjoying general Dentistry, Dan’s passion focuses on Root Canal Therapy. Family, cycling, tennis, surfing and any activity that takes him outdoors are high on his list of things-to-do when not in the surgery. Daniel married the love of his life Chloe in 2007 and has welcomed two beautiful baby girls, Charlotte (2008) and Alexandra (2011), into this world.
Esther was born in Perth, but spent much of her life in Brisbane. A graduate of Brisbane State High School and the University of Queensland, she was awarded the ultimate recognition of success with first class honours and a University Medal for Dentistry. Esther joined the Practice in 2004 following a recommendation from our then visiting orthodontist (Dr Richard Olive), and has developed a strong and loyal following. Esther became a Director in 2008. Esther served on the Australian Dental Association of Queensland (ADAQ) Council from 2009 to 2013 and volunteered as Convener of the Recent Graduates and Students Committee of ADAQ Council from 2010-2012. Esther embraces all facets of General Dentistry. Spending time with her family, reading, photography and travel are just a few of the things Esther enjoys after work.
A former student of St Laurence’s College, Paul embarked on a successful Dental degree at the University of Queensland, Graduating with honours in 2001. Paul was invited to commence practice with Coopers Plains Dental Surgery, and in 2005 he became a partner. Paul enjoys all aspects of General Dentistry, however generates most pleasure from Cosmetic treatment and Oral Rehabilitation. When not in the Surgery, Paul spend time with his family, and if time permits racing his car.
Jonathan’s developmental years were spent in Beenleigh before boarding school at Brisbane Grammar for five years. He had a year spent traveling in Germany as a Rotary Exchange student before also studying Dentistry at the University of Queensland. Jonathan, like Mark, joined the Royal Australian Air Force and served in Melbourne and Townsville before returning to Brisbane. In 1996 he joined Mark and George at Coopers Plains and became a partner in 1997. Jonathan thrives on the surgical side of Dentistry, with a preference for Wisdom Teeth and Titanium Dental Implants. Following the successful completion of his Graduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry (Pain Control and Conscious Sedation), he provides twilight anaesthetic services for the other members in the practice. Married to Julie with three children, Jonathan keeps fit through Rugby Union refereeing.
