How clear aligners work

Clear aligners are a series of custom-made, removable, transparent trays. Each set applies gentle, planned pressure to move your teeth gradually. You change to a new set every one to two weeks, as directed by your dentist, and wear them for around 20 to 22 hours a day. Because they’re removable, you take them out to eat, drink anything other than water, brush and floss.

After growing up in Sydney, Dr. Eric moved to the Gold Coast to complete his Master of Dentistry at Griffith University. Now practicing in Brisbane, he is known by his patients as a gentle and highly empathetic clinician who strives to make every appointment as comfortable as possible.

Dr. Eric’s passion lies in cosmetic and restorative dentistry, with a focus on clear aligners and porcelain restorations. His dedication to creating both aesthetic and functional bites is backed by advanced training, including a Post-Graduate Diploma in Aesthetic Orthodontics (Lon) for Invisalign.

2. 3D scan & plan

A digital scan is used to plan your tooth movements and preview a simulation.

3. Wear your aligners

Change sets as directed, with regular check-ins to monitor progress.

4. Retention

Retainers help hold your teeth in their new position after treatment.

Typical timeframe

Treatment often takes around 6 to 18 months, depending on the complexity of your case and how consistently aligners are worn. Your dentist will give you an estimate at consultation.

Who may be suitable

Clear aligners may suit adults and older teens with mild to moderate crowding, gaps, or some bite concerns, who have healthy teeth and gums and can commit to wearing aligners as directed. They aren’t suitable for everyone; some cases need other orthodontic options. Suitability is confirmed at your consultation.

Do I have to start treatment on the day?

No. There’s no obligation. The $500 discount applies only to suitable patients who commence on the day, but you’re welcome to take time to decide.
